T minus 11 days

Counting down the days 'till we leave Austin is like waiting for your 21st birthday. the opportunities to be irresponsible are getting slimmer and you best get the yayas out of the way because people will be expecting you to be responsible and such very, very soon. Actually, "people" is Ron our new landlord, friend, roomy and all around housing bill collector. "People" can also be loosely interpreted as Visa, Health Insurance and various school loans that are still to be paid 10 years after we still can't use the algebra. In fact, aside from Ron, I'm not sure these people I spoke of are carbon based life forms anyway. Are they the mysterious "they" I have heard so much about? OMG "they" are "people" or vice versa. but i digress..
We (certainly not they)are leaving June 1 and only taking what we own and all living beings besides my son Jer who have had a room or floor space in this condo. Dog- Django- check. Cat- Curtis - check. Son - Chris- check. Husband - upgraded Mike 2.0 version - check. 10396 boxes of clothes i rationalized buying because it may be cold in Baltimore (fromwith herein further will be known as Voldemort) 10k checks. Shoes, sadly only 2 boxes. double check. Must work on shoe purchases as i am well behind most of womankind and a few metros.
Eating everything in the fridge and freezer and throwing out the condiments. Goodbye tangerine garlic marinade, we hardly knew ye...

Not ready to hit the road jack but working on it suspiciously slowly. I been studying Buddhism and mediating and have come to the startling decision there is time for everything in my life and no need to stress the clock. Suddenly there is no suddenly, only now and now and dammit Mike doesn't work in the same way i do and we wont be packed in time and the 1st will come and go and i'll be in the van or car making one more trip upstairs to get the _________ we forgot and have to walk the dog and how does one walk a cat on the road with no AC in Atlanta in June anyhoo?
Hello anxiety my old friend.....

I have been through the big pack up a few times ... I always plan it as though we are moving to the moon and feel like any miscalculation is a personal failure. Silly. Like they don't have shopping in the East.

Oh wow, you're going to be able to get bagels. I'm jealous.

We're looking forward to seeing you guys tomorrow night. ---Dana
